A two-vehicle accident Sunday evening on Route A at Sandy Valley Road left a De Soto man dead and three other people injured, according to a report by the Highway Patrol. Authorities said a southbound Saturn driven by Wesley D. Holland, 26, of De Soto, pulled from Sandy Valley onto Route A into the path of a westbound Dodge pickup truck driven by Alan D. Adamson, 47, of Hillsboro. The truck struck the left side of the Saturn, killing Holland and injuring two passengers. Betty M. Kladis, 39, of De Soto was taken by ambulance to Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City with serious injuries, but was later transferred by helicopter to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Haven D. Holland, 8, of Festus, was taken by helicopter to St. Louis Children's Hospital, also with serious injuries. Adamson was treated for minor injuries at Jefferson Memorial. Police said all those involved were wearing seatbelts.

A House Springs man is dead after a one-vehicle accident Thursday morning on Route 30 near Main Drive, according to a report by the Highway Patrol. Authorities said a westbound Dodge Neon driven by Ronald C. McGuire, 21, traveled off the right side of the pavement just after 1 a.m., struck a ditch and overturned. McGuire, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A two-vehicle accident June 13 on Interstate 55 near Route A claimed the life of an Illinois woman, according to a report by the Highway Patrol. Authorities said a southbound Ford Crown Victoria driven by Earlene Anderson, 45, crossed the center median at about 4:45 a.m. and struck a northbound tractor-trailer. Anderson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.A Potosi man is recovering from serious injuries after a one-vehicle accident June 13 on Route 21 at Perkins Road, according to a report by the Highway Patrol. Authorities said a northbound Toyota Four-Runner driven by Nathan E. Finley, 30, traveled off the right side of the pavement at 6:25 a.m., struck an embankment and overturned several times. Finley, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken by helicopter to St. John's Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur. Police believe Finley fell asleep at the wheel.

A Festus teenager is recovering from serious injuries after a one-vehicle accident June 13 on Route P near Route A, according to a report by the Highway Patrol. Authorities said an eastbound Toyota Camry driven by Nicholas R. Henning, 18, traveled off the north side of the pavement at 12:15 a.m. and struck several trees. Henning, who not wearing a seatbelt, was taken by ambulance to Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City.
