A two-vehicle accident Nov. 6 on southbound Interstate 55 in Barnhart left a Festus woman seriously injured, according to a report by the Highway Patrol. Authorities said a Pontiac Solstice driven by Jeanette L. Schenk, 64, of Festus, was making a lane change at 10:40 p.m. when the rear of her vehicle struck the right front of a southbound Dodge Dakota pickup driven by Terry L. Gillis, 56, of Ste. Genevieve. The collision sent both vehicles off the left side of the pavement. The Pontiac ended up in the cable barrier, while the pickup crossed the northbound lanes and ended up on the side of the highway.
